SERVING MINISTRIES AT OAK HARBOR LUTHERAN CHURCH
Compassion Team
The Compassion Team coordinates the many social ministries our congregation is involved in, specifically our “Ministries of the Month.” Each month we focus on a ministry of compassion, from Lutheran World Relief to North Whidbey Help House (our local food bank) to Mighty to Save (a faith based addiction recovery ministry), to Watoto Childcare Ministries in Uganda. Through displays, bulletin inserts, and occasional speakers, these ministries are lifted up and supported with special offerings.
The Compassion Team meets in the fall, winter, and spring, and is open to anyone interested in these ministries.

Blanket Workshop
Blanket workshop is a monthly gathering for the purpose of making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Newcomers are welcome; no prior experience with sewing is necessary.
Blanket workshop meets on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of every month, from 9:30am to Noon.
Munchy Monday
Munchy Monday is our high school after-school program, which welcomes students from Oak Harbor High School (located just across the street) into our building on early release Mondays for snacks, games, and a safe, positive environment.
Munchy Monday begins with set up at 12:30pm, welcomes students beginning at 1:30pm, and usually concludes around 3pm. Adult volunteers are needed and welcome. (A completed background check and child protection policy training is required before volunteering.)

Whidbey Island Women’s Clinic
We join with many other Christian congregations in our community in supporting the Whidbey Island Women’s Clinic (WIWC), which provides help and support for women experiencing unplanned pregancies. WIWC provides ultrasounds and counseling, diapers, baby and maternity clothes, car seats and other necessities, as well as parenting classes – all free of charge.
The “Baby Bottle Boomerang” is an annual fundraiser which begins on Mother’s Day and concludes on Father’s Day. Bottles are available during this time in our narthex (entryway).
