CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AND FELLOWSHIP
At Oak Harbor Lutheran Church, we believe ongoing Christian education for all ages is vitally important, both for personal growth and for passing on the faith. We also believe learning happens best in community. Therefore, providing high quality Christian education and a variety of opportunities for Christian fellowship is a top priority for our congregation.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday school for children and youth is held on Sunday mornings from 9:15am to 10:15am from September through May. The curriculum takes kids through the essential stories of the Bible, with a special focus on what each story means for their lives today. Service projects are also part of learning how to live out our Christian faith.
ADULT BIBLE STUDY
Adults meet on Sunday mornings from 9:15am to 10:15am throughout the program year (September through May) for in-depth Bible studies led by our pastor. These studies change throughout the year, and focus either on specific books of the Bible or topical studies on specific Biblical themes. The class format combines lecture-style presentations with time for discussion and questions. While these studies often go deep, the lessons are prepared with the intent of being accessible and meaningful to people of varying degrees of Bible knowledge. Newcomers are as welcome as seasoned students of the Bible!

YFG (YOUTH & FAMILY GATHERINGS)
Monthly intergenerational gatherings bring together families and individuals for fellowship, food, learning, prayer, and fun. Past YFG events have included campfires with s’mores, candle making during Advent, pretzel making during Lent, board game nights, bowling outings, and more. YFG is typically held from 4pm to 6pm. Dinner is provided. Check out our newsletter for information on the next YFG event.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation is a two-year program of Christian formation leading to an affirmation of baptism. Our program is a combination of home-based learning and monthly gatherings with our pastor. Students are typically in seventh and eighth grade, but high school-aged students who have not yet been confirmed or are new to the Christian faith may participate as well.

FIRST COMMUNION
First Communion classes are offered by request or as needed when children of the congregation are ready to begin receiving the Lord’s Supper. The appropriate age is discerned in conversation between pastor and parents. Contact Pastor Spencer at 360-679-1561 or by email at pastor@oakharborlutheran.org if you are interested.
QUEST CLUB
Role-playing game (RPG) enthusiasts who are 12 and older are invited to join OHLC’s Quest Club for RPG adventures through Biblical lands and Christian themes. See our newsletter for current meeting times for Quest Club.

WOMEN’S CIRCLES
We have two women’s circles. Deborah Circle meets Thursdays at 1pm and uses the Gather magazine published by the Women of the ELCA. Lydia Circle meets Tuesdays at 5:30 and does a variety of book and Bible studies. Lydia Circle also organizes an annual holiday bazaar.
MEN’S MINISTRY (THE BROTHERHOOD OF ST. BERNARD)
Men of OHLC meet from Noon to 1:00pm on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month for lunch and Bible study. They also meet up for special projects around the church from time to time.

OHLC SINGLES
Single adults of OHLC gather on one Saturday per month at Noon for fellowship, sharing food and conversation. Check our newsletter for the next meeting of OHLC singles.
