READ 1:1-10 How would you describe the tone of this letter so far? What is Paul’s concern?
READ 2:15-21 How a person justified (made right, restored to relationship) with God? What Good News do you hear in this passage?
READ 3:1-9 How does one receive the Spirit? Why does Paul lift up the example of Abraham? Why are all Christians (Gentile or Jew) considered children of Abraham?
READ 3:21-29 How does Paul respond to the assumption that the law is contrary to the promises of God? What is the function of the law? Why can’t it save (“give life”)? What is the unifying element in the Christian community?
